One day in Winter - 74 degrees!

This week, we had summerlike weather in what was still technically winter. So after dinner, we came outside and the kids were playing. Christmas 2007, we got Isaac a big wheel - and he finally figured it out! Here he is trying to get down the neighbor's walkway. I'll give you the play-by-play, in case you need an interpreter to understand what Isaac is saying, he spots Abigail down the sidewalk. He asks, "Where's Abby?" and then says, "Oops, sorry" after he runs off the walkway. Then he says, "There you are Abby!" And by the way, that's Abigail's dress up hat that Isaac is wearing. I really did try to trade hats with him before we went outside, but he was having none of that.

So enriched!

In February, Abby and Emma's school offered a 4 week after school enrichment program. The kids could choose from several topics; a musical, taekwondo, art, sewing, etc. Emma chose Taekwondo. I think she had a lot of fun, but when I asked her if she wanted to continue in Taekwondo, she replied, "Eh, I don't think Taekwondo is my thing." This video was taken at her "graduation" ceremony - she breaks her first board. The kids are taught to be confident, so when her instructor asks her if she thinks she can break the board, she must have answered, "I'm not sure." What might be difficult to hear is the instructor addressing the class - if you are playing basketball and you feel like you aren't sure you're going to make a basket, then you won't. So then her instructor asks Emma again and this time, she answered, "Yes, sir!"

So enriched - part 2!

Abigail also participated in the after school enrichment program. She chose the Beauty and the Beast Musical. This was a very short section of the musical - as the kids only had 3 weeks to practice. Abigail had a couple small parts; as Belle and a small solo. This was a no-budget production - so no microphones - the kids were super quiet, so you'll have to turn your volume up to hear her!
